World's Most Dangerous Roads

Bangalore: Some roads appear normal and safe but actually have high death rates while some are outrageously insane. And yes, there are some roads as well which fall into both categories. Here is a list of such dangerous roads which will leave you in a fix whether to visit such places or not?

1. The Death Road (Bolivia)

road

North Yungas Road aka 'The Death Road' is considered as the most dangerous road in the world. This road stretches for about 61-69 kilometers and is only 10 feet wide. This road leads from La Paz to Coroico, which is Bolivia's capital. In this road, on an average 200-300 travelers die in the accidents. This road also consists of many crosses marking the spots where these accidents took place.
At the end of 2006, a new road that is a by-pass was opened to public, which consists of modern construction, multiple lanes, guardrails and pavement which made it a safer way of communication than the original route. Hence the 'Death Road' is currently much less used by traffic, but a significant number of adventure travelers bike it for thrill.
