Las Lajas Cathedral

It is a neo-Gothic church which was built in the time period 1916-1049.It is located in Southern Columbia, near Ipiales.In Spanish it means- the rocks. The church was build by replacing an old nineteenth century chapel with donations from local churchgoers. The image of the virgin forms the back wall of the church, where it was claimed to have appeared all of a sudden. It is not painted, but mysteriously imprinted in the rock. The image is situated inside a cave very high in the mountains and until it was discovered by an Indian in the 19th century, it was completely unknown.

It is a Russian Orthodox Church erected on the red square in Moscow in 1555-61.Until the completion of the Ivan The great Bell Tower in 1600, it was the tallest building in Moscow. The building is officially called -the cathedral of the Intercession of the Virgin by the Moat. The builders Barma and Postnik Yakovlev, were blinded by Ivan, the legend, so that they couldn't come up with a creation like this in future. In the 17th century, a hip-roofed bell tower was added; the gallery and staircases were covered with vaulted roofing. The cathedral is now a museum.

It is a Gothic, Roman Catholic Cathedral located in Paris, France. Its construction began in the year 1163 and was completed in 1250. It is a place of pilgrimage with 13 million visitors every year. It is a church that contains the cathedra (official chair) of the Archbishop of Paris. In 1970,during the phase of French Revolution, majority of the religious imagery of the church was destroyed. It took time to return the cathedral to an original Gothic state. The West Front, Kings Gallery, The West Rose Window, Portal of the Virgin and Portal of Saint Anne are some of the notable features of the church.

It is formally known as Dio Padre Misericordioso, located in Rome. Its construction began in the year 1998.It is the 50th new church and community center build throughout the suburbs of Rome. The church's site is divided into 4 main parts-first, precinct, the northeast terrace and the West Parking Area. According to its architect, Richard Meier-it is the crown Jewel of the Vicariato di Roma's Millennium Project. He also claims that the church minimizes thermal peak loads inside. The church sits on a flat, triangular site in Tor Tre Teste about 6 miles east of Central Rome.

It is a Protestant Christian Church building in the city of Garden Grove, California, United States. The church was founded by Robert H Schuller,in the year 1955. The building was constructed using over 10,000 rectangular panes of glass. Unlike its name, the church is not made up of crystal.From the outside, the church is shaped like a giant four-pointed crystal star. It has one of the largest pipe organs in the world, called the Hazel Wright pipe Organ. Frequent special events, concerts and recitals are held at the cathedral.
