Aquaventure Waterpark, Dubai

Aquaventure is one of Dubai's most thrilling waterparks. In 2013 it got even better when it opened four more thrilling slides each wrapped around the new Tower of Poseidon pyramid and the Middle East's longest zip line circuit.
However, you can still dive into old favourites like the Leap of Faith, a 27.5-metre plunge that carries you through a clear tube surrounded by sharks and rays. Although children need to be taller than 1.2 metres to enjoy many of the park's slides, little ones will delight in the Splashers' Children's Play Area a maze of kid-friendly tunnels, tubes, slides and climbing frames.


If you're not looking for high-speed action, amble along the Lazy River that stretches for more than a mile through and if you're looking for your own patch of sand, check out Atlantis Beach.

Here you'll experience heart-thumping slides, the pinnacle being Leap of Faith, a near-vertical, 9-storey drop that catapults you through a tube surrounded by a shark-filled lagoon.

You can also attempt Poseidon's Revenge, the UAE's only dual-racing loop waterslide. If you're not feeling quite that brave, you can try the 6-person Aquaconda, the world's widest waterslide.
After all that excitement, it might be time to just sit back and relax in one of the many zero-entry pools or on the private beach surrounded by lush tropical landscapes. With plenty to keep all ages entertained, this is the perfect escape for a day of aquatic fun.
