Miramar Beach

On the way to Dona Paula, 1-km ahead of the confluence of the Arabian Sea and Mandvi River, under the palm shade, is "Gasper Dias" or Miramar Beach and is just 3-km away from the capital city of Panjim.

In Portuguese language 'Miramar' stand for viewing the sea. Situated on a good location for evening walks, the coast is spread upto 2-km, having a fine silvery sand bed. From here one has an excellent view of the Aguada fort just across the Mandovi River.

The climate at Miramar beach Goa is equable and moist throughout the year. Miramar enjoys pleasant and temperate climate from October to May and rainy from June to September. Temperature variations throughout the year are mild. May is the warmest month with a temperature of around 30°C and January is coolest with a mean daily temperature of 25°C. Due to its proximity of the sea, the territory is generally humid and even during the summer months humidity is
generally above 60 percent.The best time to visit Miramar Beach is during the months of November through March. Try not to visit this part of India in May since it is quite warm and the temperature is approximately 30 Degrees Centigrade.

Activities At Miramar Beach:
The Miramar Beach is an ideal location for evening walks. And you will find many people taking a stroll in the evening. You will love to walk on the soft white sand.Unlike other Beaches in Goa (Calangute, Anjuna etc), where you will find mainly tourists, Miramar Beach has visitors that comprise locals as well as tourists.

You can explore few make-shift shops that are present on the Miramar Beach. Men, Women, and Children roam about with Colored Stones, Rings, Earrings made of Colored Shells etc and try to get their stuff sold.You can buy few of them. However, you have to settle for the price as these are sold at a cost higher than what they should be. So, you can bargain sometimes. Although the quality of such stuff is not good, but if you fancy them, you can get one or 2 for yourself. Shops on the Miramar Beach are of different types. You will also find many local eateries where you can have local cuisine.
