Kodaikanal to Munnar Road
A drive of eighty one kilometers, the road spreads from the Dindigul and Thane districts of Tamil Nadu right up to the Idukki district in Kerala. The road is also famously known as the escape road. The views are spectacular with silver waterfalls pouring with all their strength so hard that they almost resemble the volume of drums. Scenic hills, streams of water and welcoming pine forest are some of the views you come across as you drive along this road.
With an elevation of 2,480 meters, as it approaches the south of the Vanadaravu peak, the road is considered as one of the highest in India. The road had in fact been built by the British in 1942 in order to evacuate the possible threat from the Japanese.
