The river lies in the border between Sikkim and West Bengal, before joining into River Brahmaputra as a tributary, and finally reaching Bangladesh. The river being 309 kilometers long, possess some of the fierce rapids that can thump your heart aloud. Earlier; a large part of this area was situated in Nepal, but it was added to British India after the Sugauli Treaty.
