What are the major tourist places to visit in Bikaner, Rajasthan?

Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary,

Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary is located at a distance of 32 Km from Bikaner. In previous times it was a hunting ground for the Maharajahs of Bikaner. There is a lake which is surrounded by sanctuary and a variety of animals come here to quench their thirst in summer. This is one of the proposed forests for Cheetah reintroduction in India.

Junagarh Fort, Bikaner

The fort was formerly called Chintamani and was renamed Junagarh or "Old Fort" in the early 20th century when the ruling family moved to Lalgarh Palace. It is one of the few major forts in Rajasthan not built on a top of hill. It is an incontrovertible fort of Rajasthan, a fort that has never been conquered, though it has been attacked many times. Junagarh Fort of Rajasthan is an impressive monument of Rajasthan, with huge towers and battlements for defence.

Lalgarh palace

This extensive palace was builded by Maharaja Ganga Singh Ji in 1902. The magnificent structure in sandstone is a perfect example of Indo- Sarasenic architecture. It was shaped and designed by Sir Swinton Jacod. It is a ideal blend of Mughal, Rajput and European architecture. Gorgeous latticework and filigree work has been integrated to add to the splendor of the palace. Currently it is maintained by the Welcome Heritage Group.
