Best Wildlife National Parks In Sri Lanka

In 1938, The Wasgamuwa National Park was nominated as a Nature Reserve Centre where as in 1970s the region was embraced as an authoritarian nature reserve and ever since the park was affirmed as a fortification vicinity of the refuge wild animals. In 1984, the Park is calculated as one of the top four national parks throughout the mission "Mahaweli Development Project". The Wasgamuwa National Park is sited in the small Districts of Polonnaruwa and Matale, raised 225 km left from the Capital. The square holds its significant part on history for being the most shielding locale of the Sri Lankan Sloth Bear. The ordinary exquisiteness of the park is marvelous where the area is sphere by the Mahaweli River in the south, Amban River on the northern side and Dunuwila Oya on the western side.

The desiccated zone and the typical weather of the park perpetuating 28C where the park consist of four diverse zone as primary , secondary, grasslands and rivers area. Despite of being hot dry weather, the region is complimentary to many wild life like Leopard and Sri Lankan Sloth Bear, Yellow-fronted Barbet, the Lesser Adjutant, Sri Lanka Spur fowl, Red-faced Malkoha, and considered the most strictly protected area of Sri Lankan Elephants.

The National park restrains lofty altitude of quartz and marble soil. The park has approximately 140 dissimilar genus of birds also for 23 variety of mammals and many others flora and fauna like monkeys ,the Purple-faced Langur and Toque Macaque, the Water Buffalo and Sri Lankan Axis Deer.
