The Sri Lanka's greatest park that engaged 1085 sq km and once most celebrated Island Park, the "Wilpattu National Park" is one of the most exclusive characteristic park in the world which lies in the Island, of 30 km west as of Anuradhapura and 26 km north of Puttalam which is just about 180 km north commencing from Colombo, the Island placed in the Northwest coast lowland arid zone of Sri Lanka.

Though the Park is situated in the Island; Wilpattu National Park has its own allure and attractiveness. Its characteristic is it in terms of survival of "Willus" also identified as Natural Lake and its sand-circumference rainwater basins. The National Park is famed for its Leopard habitat where in fact not a soul yet hit upon the accurate figure of the Leopard. The Island is rich with Flora and Fauna including birds, reptiles and many more.
