Dangerous Beaches around the World

Be careful with your choice of beach because there might just be sharks lurking in the water, turning your exciting beach vacation to a terrifying nightmare. There are some beaches out there that are less than idyllic. Whether your particular phobia is shark bites, jellyfish and most polluted.

Dangerous Beaches
Kilauea, Hawaii:The beach at Kilauea, located on the Hawaian island of Kauai, sits next to one of the world's most active volcanoes, which is erupting continuously since 1983, throwing lava into ocean. Also, since 1828, 102 shark attacks were reported (8 of them fatal). The black sand beach on Hawaii's largest island called Kilauea sits next to one of the world's active volcanoes, which has the same name as the island. It has been constantly erupting since 1983, releasing lava into the ocean. Furthermore, there has also been 102 shark attacks since 1828. Still, Kilauea is a marvelous place one has to visit.

Chowpatty Beach, Mumbai: It is one of the most polluted beaches in the world. Garbage is known to happily float around the ocean along with sea-weed. It has a very thick debris layer that prevents the sand from being visible at some points. In August 2011, the MV Rak sank off the coast here, and its load of 60,000 metric tons of coal started to wash up onto the shore. Even though this is considered one of the world's most polluted beaches, locals still wade into the water every September during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. The beach is completely unfit for swimming. In the evening time, people of certain sections of society do come to the beach and enjoy themselves.

1: You are very confused about Hawaii. There is no active volcano on the island of Kauai. The active volcano is on the island of Hawaii, and the area where the lava sometimes enters the sea is not called Kilauea

2: The shark attack statistics for Hawaii are also inaccurate. From 1828 to 2013 there have been 129 reports of shark attacks, 9 fatal, across the ENTIRE Hawaiian Island chain.
