Delhi to get more rain Friday

New Delhi, Delhiites woke up to an overcast Friday morning and saw light rainfall which is expected to continue through the day, the Met Office said.

The minimum temperature was 24.6 degrees Celsius - two notches below the season's average.

"The sky will remain cloudy with rain and thundershower," said an India Meteorological Department official.

The city recorded 56.7 mm of rainfall since late Thursday.

Slow traffic was witnessed Friday by those travelling from Gurgaon to Delhi, on the Ring Road, Vasant Enclave, Lajpat Nagar in south Delhi and at Karol Bagh, Old Rajinder Nagar in west Delhi.

People, however, enjoyed the rain as it brought respite from the sultry weather.

"The rainfall is nice and wonderful...," said Sohan Gupta, a media professional travelling to south Delhi, told IANS.

Friday's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 32 degrees Celsius.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 92 percent.

Thursday's maximum temperature was recorded three notches below the season's average at 36.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was two notches above the season's average at 28.9 degrees Celsius.
