#4 Karakoram Pass
Known for the highest pass on the ancient caravan route between Leh in Ladakh and Yarkhand, the Karakoram Pass rises up to an elevation of 5, 540 m (18, 171 ft). The term 'Karakoram' means 'Black Gravel' in Turkic, but because of its high altitude and scarcity of food, it has led to the death of infinite number of animals. The route has been used since ancient times by traders and pilgrims traversing between India and Tibet.
#5 Sela Pass
The bluish frozen mountainous Sela Pass is located in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. It connects Tawang to rest of India through Tezpur and Guwahati at an elevation of 4,170 m (13,680 ft). It receives heavy snowfall throughout the year. The high altitude mountain pass is a very difficult terrain cross and the only Gateway to Tawang and Buddhist Tawang monastery.
