Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi

This is the busiest airport in India terms of daily flight traffic. With the swanky new Terminal 3, Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport has become an important aviation hub, with a current capacity of handling more than 46 million passengers. DIAL is a joint venture consortium of GMR Group (54%), Airports Authority of India (26%), and Fraport AG & Eraman Malaysia (10% each). GMR is the lead member of the consortium, Fraport AG is the airport operator and Eraman Malaysia is the retail advisor.In March 2010, DIAL has completed the construction of integrated passenger terminal (Terminal 3).

The first phase of the airport design is capable of handling 60 million passengers per annum.DIAL has won the 2nd Best Airport award in the 25-40 million passengers per annum category in the Airport Service Quality Awards ceremony by the Airports Council International ,2012; the SKYTRAX award for the World's Most Improved Airport-2012; and the No.1 Airport in India Award for Operation, Management & Development of the new integrated passenger terminal building T3 at the Infrastructure Excellence Awards 2012.

Major Highlight of Indira Gandhi International Airport

1.Two tier terminal building featuring the departure complex on the upper level and the arrivals at the lower level.
2.The roof of the building has stylized incisions to allow daylight and angled to protect the interior from direct sunlight creating an ambience maximizing the sense of
volume, space and light inside
3.Reduced dependence on artificial light through use of natural light in day time.
4.Third runway is amongst the longest in Asia with capacity to handle an A380-size aircraft.
