Malaysia Airlines will improve connectivity between
Malaysia and
India with a fifth weekly
Kuala Lumpur-Trivandrum service from
12 September 2025. The move serves to meet the increasing demand between both
business and leisure channels.
The flight was initially launched as two weekly services in
November 2023, but it was upgraded to four services in
April 2024 owing to strong
passenger traffic. With
daily flights planned from
December 1, 2025, the airline continues its strategic push into the
Indian market.
Currently operating
77 weekly flights across
10 Indian cities, Malaysia Airlines will increase this to
80 flights by the end of 2025. The
Trivandrum route, serving
South India, has become increasingly popular due to
Kerala's tourism appeal and the
business ties between the two regions. The airline's efforts aim to enhance
regional connectivity while catering to
post-pandemic travel growth, offering travelers more
flexibility and convenience.
Malaysia Airlines'
Chief Commercial Officer Dersenish Aresandiran emphasized India's importance in the airline's
long-term strategy, highlighting the expansion as a step toward deeper
bilateral engagement.
The increased services also support travelers accessing wider
Southeast Asian destinations via
Kuala Lumpur's strategic location. The airline's ongoing commitment includes a strong focus on both
service quality and
regional integration to maintain its relevance in one of the world's
fastest-growing aviation markets.
