To have the pleasure to trek down the maze successfully, you need a proper guiding map and organized skill.
Without preparation you will be lost and will never be able to get out.
Steep cliffs on either side make the trek more difficult to get knowledge of your position. Water and shade is rare in this spot so be prepared for that.
The Maze also known as red rock labyrinth is a very difficult place to reach and is full of dead-end gullies and rockfalls are common danger during the trek.
With double suicides in 2013, and frequent deaths and suicides in the rest of Canyonlands just proves how deadly the place could be.
