Periyar National Park is one among the fostered beauty of Western Ghats situated in Idukki district of Kerala. Periyar national park is one among the largest tiger reserve in India, even though it considered as refuge for Nilgiri langoor, Nilgiri tahr, bison, deer, antelope and Elephants.

The birdlife comprise of Kingfisher, Cormorants, Darters, Hornbills, Stork abound the vast stretches of the sanctuary. Three hundred and twenty species have been spotted till date. The ideal time to visit sanctuary is between Jun to October. The national park and the tiger reserve is considered as one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in India for wildlife photography, bird studies, elephant herds and tiger watching.

Periyar national park was declared a Tiger Reserve in the year 1972.Pariyar national park also have 100 year old artificial lake and this lake provides a platform for photographers to capture best photos from wildlife and an gives a unique opportunity for travelers to explore this wonderful destination.

In addition to all the fauna, the Periyar wildlife sanctuary is also famed for its flora. In some portion of deeper valley holds trees that have full-fledged to a height of up to 130-140 feet and seem as though they’ve been there since very long time.
