Philippines Opens Visa-Free Travel for Indians, Direct Flights from October

In a historic step that enhances travel and diplomatic relations, the Philippines has announced visa-free travel for Indian tourists. The move was announced during bilateral talks between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in New Delhi on Tuesday.

As part of increasing collaboration between the two countries, India will also provide free e-visas to travelers from the Philippines. As a big boost to connectivity, Air India has announced the launch of direct non-stop flights between Delhi and Manila from October 1, 2025 a development long awaited by travelers and tourism players.

Famous for its stunning beaches and rich culture, the Philippines has been a fantasy tourist destination for many Indian tourists. Be it enjoying the soft white sands of Boracay or discovering the tropical haven of Palawan or unraveling the colonial beauty of Cebu, the nation promised a lot of memorable moments. But a complex visa procedure and no direct flights continued to present obstacles.

Speaking to the media, President Marcos Jr. said, "We have opened visa-free entry for Indian nationals and invite more Indian visitors to discover the Philippines. I also thank Prime Minister Modi for opening a visa-free program for Filipino visitors to India."

Prime Minister Modi further stated, "I am happy to announce that India and the Philippines agreed to elevate our bilateral relationship to a strategic partnership. A whole-of-government action plan has also been developed to ensure this partnership yields meaningful results."
