In North Korea, Room 39 is a secretive organization that aims to obtain foreign currency for Kim Jong-un, the supreme leader of North Korea. This secret organization was established back in the year 1970s. Less information is known about this Room 39 because of the secretive nature surrounding the organization, but it has been considered that the organization holds 10 to 20 bank accounts in China and Switzerland. The purposes behind this usage of bank accounts are of counterfeiting, money laundering, and other illicit transactions. It is to be believed that Room 39 is situated inside a ruling Workers' Party building in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea.
