World's Most Spectacular Beaches

Valencia, Spain

beaches

Valencia was known as one of the Lonely Planet's top 10 cities for 2011. Positioned confidently, and seated coquettishly along Spain's Mediterranean coast, it offers plenty of choice for beach-lovers. Spread your towel on the broad Playa de la Malvarrosa or neighboring, Playa de las Arenas, each bordered by the Paseo Maritimo promenade and a line of restaurants. The lively bars and discos breaking the heat in summer is what one should look for when they come here.

Barcelona, Spain

beaches

Barcelona, which is the second largest city in Spain, after Madrid, is known to have Mediterranean's busiest ports. Clubs, restaurants and bars are always full as in the seaside during summer. A series of beaches stretch across the northeastern side from Port Olympic marina. The southernmost beach, Platja de la Nova Icaria is known to be the busiest followed by Placa del Camions across Avinguda del Litoral highway. Though the beaches of the city seem to be largely artificial, this does not stop an estimated seven million bathers from grouping in every year for a good holiday and sunshine experience.

Brighton and Hove, England

beaches

Brighton is the most vibrant seaside resort in England. Located just an hour from London, it is a thriving cosmopolitan city known for its Bohemian spirit; home to an exuberant gay community, a dynamic student population and a healthy number of aging and new age hippies including traditional candy floss fun. The beach looks decorative, made up of pebbles and no sand is seen, but it is a good crowd puller. Whether it's midday sunbathing or midnight partying Brighton Beach seems to be in use at all times.
