Bangalore: Airports are the gateways to city or a country. They are the piece of art, a modern marvel that represents the pride of a nation. Here are ten of the best airports from around the world, as reported by Alex Davies and Lean Goldman of Business Insider, based on the 2013 World Airport Awards released by Skytrax.

London Heathrow Airport, the primary hub of British Airways and the third busiest air strips in world (as of 2012), achieved the best ever ratings by breaking into top 10 list for the first time. The airport which offers one of the swankiest duty free stretches with biggies such as Harrods, Jimmy Choo, Tiffany & Co, and Bvlgari in its vicinity, scooped the top honors for Best Airport Shopping and Best Terminal categories.
The airport also received top honors in categories such as easy to use, flight information, public transport, security staff efficiency and more.
