Longyearbyen is the biggest settlement and the administrative centre of Svalbard, Norway, which is located on the western side of Spitsergen (largest island in Svalbard). The city will be in darkness in the months of November, December and January, as the sun sinks below the horizon for the 'polar night' and that is the reason why people of this city add vivid colours to their houses. Major part of the land here is covered in glaciers, but the place also offers fun with various activities such as Kayaking, dog sledging and snowmobile safaris.
