Petronas Towers:

5 Tallest Structures of the World

The famous, beautiful Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur were constructed in 1998. As romantic as they look standing side by side, these elegant slender towers once held the title of the tallest structures of the world and still wear the crown of being the tallest twin structures of the world. Designed by Argentine-American architect Cesar Pelli and built on Kuala Lumpur's race track, the towers are made of high-strength concrete and has a curtain wall of glass and stainless steel sun shades that help diffuse the intensity of light. Each tower has 88 floors and costs 1.6 billion U.S dollars. The Petronas Towers achieve at acknowledging Malaysia's past and future, embracing the country's heritage while proclaiming its modernization.
