3. Chechnya

The Chechen Republic which is commonly known as Chechnya was formed after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. It is located in the southeastern part of Europe in the Northern Caucasus. Although the country is rich in oil, its economy and infrastructure were devastated with a prolonged war between the local separatists and Russian forces, combined with armed banditry and organized crime.
