6 Most Dangerous Countries to Travel

3. Chechnya
danger

The Chechen Republic which is commonly known as Chechnya was formed after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. It is located in the southeastern part of Europe in the Northern Caucasus. Although the country is rich in oil, its economy and infrastructure were devastated with a prolonged war between the local separatists and Russian forces, combined with armed banditry and organized crime. Lack of security to Western travelers has always been an issue and kidnappings by local gangs is nothing new here, there is a high level of threat from terrorism as well.
