Nakki lake called by this name because it was excavate from Nails. The lake is in length of about a half mile and in width about of a quarter of mile and 20 to 30 ft.The Nakki Lake is a lake located in the hill station of Mount Abu in Valli range. Town of Mount Abu forms an amphitheatre around the pleasant lake, dotted with little islets. It is considered to be the only artificial lake in the country, at an attitude of 1200 mts. Situated above sea level.

One historical story explained that it was dug out from nails by gods for the protection against demon ‘Bashkali’. One more romantic history was of Rasia Balam, a statue of Dilwara Jain temple and Kings daughter name Kunwari Kanya. Nakki Lake has a very quiet and romantic atmosphere around it. Shri Raghunathji Temple, Toad Rock and the Maharaja Jaipur Palace in Mount Abu are very close to it. Bandits love, sunset point is located near to it. On 12th February 1948, Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were wrapped up in Nakki Lake and Gandhi Ghat was built alongside it.
