About Amber Fort Rajasthan
Amber fort is located in 11 kilometers from Jaipur. This Hill Fort is the first destination of any tourister in Jaipur. Amber fort is constructed in the leadership of Raja Man Singh. Amber fort is famed with its blended artistic style of Hindu and Rajput rudiments. Amber fort is constructed in 1952 and which is made in red sand stone and white marble. .Amber is the classic and romantic fort-palace with a wonderful aura. The interior wall of the palace depicts expressive painting scenes with carvings, expensive stones and mirror settings. Built primarily for the warring enemies as a safe place, the heavily structured walls could defend the residents within the battlements of the fort.
Main entrance is through the Suraj Pole (Sun Gate) which is the first main courtyard. This gate was provided with guards as it was the main entry into the Amber palace. It was famed as sun gate as it faced the eastern direction towards the rising Sun. It leads to Jaleb Chowk which means a place for military to come together. A stairway beginning from the Jaleb Chowk directed to the central palace. At the entrance of the palace you can find Sila Devi temple situated which is close to the Ganesh Gate.
2nd courtyard named as Diwan-i-Aam . It is also identified as the Public Audience Hall. It is a beautiful hall stands on two rows of decorated pillars. Here, the king used to hear about the requests, problems, and petitions of the audience. The third courtyard is where the personal residence of the king and his family were built as Diwaan-e-khaas. This courtyard is come into the Ganesh Gate.
The courtyard has two mansion opposite to each other. On the left is Sheesh mahal or mirror palace which is a stunning part of fort .It is famous for its mirror work. The walls and ceilings of this palace are carved with magnificent paintings of glass work.
