About delhi city was inaugurated on February 13, 1931. New Delhi is home to two world heritage sites, Humayun's Tomb and the Qutb complex. This city is one of world's ten global cities.

Swaminarayan Akshardham reflects the essence and magnitude of India's ancient architecture, traditions and timeless spirituality, the architecture is a marvel in pink sandalwood and white marble. Azad Hind Gram Tourist Complex at Tikri Kalan is built to honor Netaji Subhash ChandraBose. Bahai temple is another important spot built in the shape of a lotus flower. Then comes Birla Mandir known as Lakshmi Narayan temple, is one of the major tourist attractions.

The city's importance lies in past glory as well as its diverse culture. Delhi has been the political hub of India. This was true even of the mythological era. Indraprastha, the capital of Pandavas in Mahabharatha, is believed to have been located in today's Delhi.
