Munnar is a popular tourist spot and was converted into a plantation destination by turner brothers in 1877. Initially they tried growing coffee, cardamom, chinchona and silsal but realized that tea was best sited for the soil of Munnar and Anamalai. As of today, Munnar has more than 12000 hectares of lush green tea fields. These well maintained hills are surrounded by greener hills which protect a rich variety of wildlife.


Munnar is the place where three hill rivers Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala unite in centre of Munnar Township. There is a lot to do in Munnar. Some of the places you can visit while you are here is Kundala Lake. Tea Plantations, Reserve Forests, Anamudichola National Park, Perumala Tribal Settlement, Anjunad Valley, Marayoor.
