After the First Anglo Burmese war (1824-26), Assam became a part of India. The place is well known for Assam tea, Assam silk and its rich Bio-Diversity. The neighborhood of Cherrapunji and Mawsynram is famous as places that receive the highest rainfall in the world.
This state is located in the north-east part of India. The place carries an amazing range of culture and landscape. It shares its borders with Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh. People from different races, religion and culture have converged to live together and make the state. Hinduism, Christianity, Sikhism and Buddhism are the main religions practiced in Assam.

Many temples and monuments were built in various parts of Assam with the advent of new faith and religion. Representing the architectural style of Koch, Kachari and Ahom royal courts, these temples and monuments stand as witness the glorious past of Assam.
