Yamunotri



Yamunotri temple, situated on the left banks of Yamuna is constructed by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal. It is believed that Goddess Yamuna is worshiped at Yamunotri, the source of river Yamuna. The temple is situated in the Garhwal Himalayas at a height of 3235 mt. The main attraction is the thermal springs situated close to the temple. Devotees dip rice and potatoes in these hot water springs before paying their offers. The idol is made of black marble. Private and public bus services are offered from Hanuman Chatti to Rishikesh (213 km) and Dehradun (172 km).
