Egyptian Museum
The Egyptian museum in Cairo has 12000 artifacts, many of them put on display, while others kept in Safe-keeping rooms. It was established in the year 1835 and was opened to public in 1858. One can see the mummies, sarcophagi, pottery, jewellery and King Tutankhamen's treasures. In addition, Chariots, gloves, jewellery, famous mask-many antiquities from Tutankhamen's tomb are displayed here. The Royal mummy room houses 11 royal mummies from ancient times. Furthermore, the museum comprises of a photography section and a large library.
