Traveling alone can be rewarding, just as traveling with a friend or loved one is. But travelling solo brings out the different shades in you, increases confidence and your abilities. The main appeal is the freedom of it. You get to choose your itinerary, see and go where you want to and not make compromises for anyone else. It let you develop a sense of independence and confidence while meeting new people along the way.

One should consider how much is there to do in a place, how easy getting around is and the safety while choosing a destination to travel alone. So here are a few places to travel alone.


Amsterdam:

A tiny, vivacious city with great history culture and architecture - Amsterdam! The place is easy to get around on foot plus, it has a great biking culture which adds to the point of easy to get around. It's one of those places that make people feel that they could live there happily one day. The many canals of the city, extraordinary canal houses, and canal cruises, plenty of cultural stops that include Anne Frank house, Van Gogh Museum, the Rijks museum and the Rembrandt House are few places you can visit while touring the city.

New York:

A brilliant city for singles, New York's major population is single! Walk down the Fifth Avenue or the Central park, you can never feel alone in the city that never sleeps. And the best part - you can find an event happening every single night you are in the city which keeps you busy and gives you company. The city is walk able, has a brilliant subway system and abundance of taxis which all together make it one of the easiest places to get around. New Yorkers are extremely helpful contrary to beliefs in case you got lost or need help.

Costa Rica

A great place for solo adventure junkies, Costa Rica has an array of activities like counting white-water rafting, mountaineering, soothing in hot springs or scaring yourself silly zip-lining in the course of the forest canopy to offer. The "rich coast" - which is the literal meaning of the name - encompasses beaches, rain forests, volcanoes and exotic wildlife which include white-faced monkeys, speckled owls and toucans.
