Kanha is a bamboo forests, rolling grasslands and meandering streams stretch over 940 sq km in dramatic natural splendour which form the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve created in 1974 under Project Tiger. Kanha situated in the Mandla district of Central India in Madhya Pradesh. Kanha was formed as the Kanha Tiger Reserve in the year 1974 under Project Tiger.

Kanha National Park: Kanha National Park is one among the biggest park in Madhya Pradesh. Kanha Tiger Reserve is located in the Maikal Hills of the Satpuras spreading over two revenue districts – Mandla and Balaghat.Wildlife sightings are good all over the preserve. One needs to book park entry in advance and arrange for gypsy as early as possible especially during the holiday season and festivals like Holi, Diwali, Dusshehra, New Year and Week Ends.The park has a significant population of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear, Barasingha and Indian wild dog.
