Kempty Fall Mussoorie

Kempty Fall Mussoorie
The stunningly beautiful Kempty Falls are situated on the hilly tracks of Uttarakhand, India. Kempty Falls were developed as a tourist destination by a British officer John Mekinan, around 1835. The name Kempty is probably derived from the word 'camp-tea'.Kempty falls is one of the most popular and crowded tourist spots in Mussoorie. This is a perennial waterfall, plunging its way down about 40 ft from a mountain. Kempty Falls is the largest of the five cascades that emerge down from the mountains to flow down various huge rocks into the plains.
A visit to these falls is incomplete without bathing under the falls. Usually a crowded spot, you can escape the crowd and visit a more secluded place by climbing the steps lined along the flow of the stream, to find yourself in a rocky enclosure formed naturally by the stream. Get a feel of the cool gushing waters on your feet.Yamuna is not far from the Kempty when one travels past it some 12 km downhill on crossing the Aglar River. Trout are in abundance here, and fishing permits can be obtained form the Divisional Forest Officer, Mussoorie. For those seeking the thrill of the gigantic falls for more than just a quick trip, there are arrangements for accommodation in huts in the area around Kempty. The falls can be visited round the year except in rainy season starting from the months of July and August.
