Ranthambhore Fort
The Ranthambhore fort is believed to have been built during the 8th century by the Chauhans ruler, situated in the vicinity of Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan, Ranthambhor Fort can to be originated surrounded by the Ranthambore National Park which was previously the hunting zones for the royal Jaipur Maharajahs . It has become part of the UNESCO’s World heritage Site under hill forest series of Rajasthan. The Ganesha Temple which is situated inside of fort is the major attraction of the fort.

The Ranthambore fort is bordered by huge stonewalls which are strengthened by looms and bastions. The stone for the stonework was mined from inside the Fort and the mines were later twisted into ponds for water storage.

Once fort was captured by the Mughals who prior used it as a staying place and then later as a prison fortress. The prisoners here were kept on two months before the Governor ordered to execute them. the Ranthambore Fort has several pols or gates. The Hathi Pol (elephant gate), Suraj Pol (sun gate) and Navlakha Pol (the nine lakh gate) ,Bada Darwaza (big gate), Mor Dwara (peacock gate) Ganesh Pol (hindu elephant god gate), be worthy of a special mention.
