Time-Warp Towns

These towns are those out-of-time finds that make for road-trip gold. Inhabited by earlier Woolworths-turned- antiques booth malls, neon cryptogram for Rheingold or Schaeffer, gingerbread facet, town squares, memorials, cobblestones, and apple pie of course!

The edifices part of the local history is still standing, and if you squint it seems like you’ve gone back in time. We added a few towns that are more than blips on a route, spots that are historically rich, and interesting!

San Angelo, Texas

Time-Warp Towns
Established in 1867, San Angelo, established on the Concho River used to be just a stop by Fort Concho. Growing as the country seat, the dawn of the railroad and onset of the oil industry fueled its growth. Visitors today go for the Old West know-how and to catch a glimpse the Cactus Hotel, historic buildings of Concho Avenue, and of course Miss Hattie’s Bordello Museum (the bordello was once connected to the saloon via a secret passageway).
