The great city located in Belgium was established in the 9th century. It is sometimes referred to as the Venice of the North. At one time, it was the chief commercial city of the world. Bruges has most of its medieval architecture intact. 'Church of our Lady' is a notable building in Bruges which is one of the world's highest brick towers. Other famous Historical buildings are The Beguinage, Basilica of the Holy blood, City hall, Bell Tower of the Market and Saint Salvator's Cathedral. Groeninge museum is a popular art museum covering low country painting from the 15th to the 20th centuries.
