According to Guiness World Records, the First World Hotel in the Genting Highlands Resort Pahang Darul Makmur is the largest hotel in the world. Many people also refer to this hotel as the Las Vegas of Malaysia. The hotel has 6,118 rooms and was completed in 2005 and currently stands as a multi-hued, colossal Lego-brick-like construction above the Ulu Kali Peak which is an hour away from Kuala Lumpur.

The hotel has a tropical jungle at the entrance of the hotel as well as ten restaurant's which confirms that this is a hotel that doesn't do anything small!

The coronet for oldest hotel in the world was held by the Hoshi Ryokan in Komatsu, Japan which was operating since 717 AD. While you might be thinking that nothing can outrun this feat, but this feat has been outshined by the newest oldest hotel - the Nisiyama Onsen Keiunkan in Yamanashi, Japan. The rumor has it that this hot spring inn has been in business since 705 AD - which means it would have greeted their first guest a few centuries after the fall of the Roman Empire in the West and just before Japan's historic Nara Period began!
