My First Visit to Gods Own Country
Through picturesque settings I reached my destination Athirappilly. I was lost in the landscape of this small town located in God's own Country Kerela, my dream place. We had one all bookings earlier and we stayed at Ayursoukhyam Resorts located on the banks on river Chalakkudy closer to Athirappilly Waterfalls. A place where the sound of silence was interrupted with the ripples of water.

The high ranges, and crashing through gorges overhung with trees, these waterfall is one of the best places in India to re capture a real sense of the classical idea of the Picturesque. The resort was one amazing place to be spending your holidays. After breakfast we would spend most the time in soaking ourselves in the river. It is also a place where the colorful phenomenon of butterfly migration can be witnessed between the monsoons. It offers ample opportunities for forest treks. The first day we spent in resort because apart from the stay the resort has a lot to offer its customers, we played badminton and in the evening we relaxed to music of the locals. The elegant dance by a group of young girls around the bon fire was indeed remarkable.
The second day, we hired a vehicle to visit the city and the waterfalls. We were glad we got a driver who understood hindi and played hindi so
gs the entire day for us in his cab. We first visited the Vazhachal falls then headed to Aithirappilly falls. It started raining as we were proceeding to the falls. hat added beauty to our trip. I was anxiously waiting to reach Aithirappilly falls, because the movie Ravaan was shot there. On reaching there I was wonder struck. I would say the most beautiful place I have ever seen till date. Bu in this entire trip one thing I really had a tough time was with the food. The resort did provide good food, but we were in the city it was tough finding the best place to dine. The next day we left from Chalakkudy and to head towards Fort Cochi. This was the last place we visited in that trip.
