Bangalore: With technology and air travel being modernized on a daily basis, journeys from one place to another, which once took months, now takes only hours. And it's also pretty hard for a common man or an adventurer to get away from all the rush, glitz and glamor from this modern world. But apart from all these, there are some mysterious places that are said to be 'off the map' or identified as literally difficult to reach.

Easter islands or Rapa Nui is a tiny island that is situated over 2000 miles west of the Chilean Coast. Isolated in the vastness of Pacific Ocean, this island spreads roughly over 70 miles in size and is home to more than 4000 people. This island is also well known for its gigantic rock sculptures called Moai which is said to be built by its earliest inhabitants over 1500 years ago. This island also features one of the most remote airports in the world that carries passengers to the island by way of Santiago, Chile.
