Agumbe is one of the most scenic places on the Western Ghats of the Southern India.Agumbe is situated in Shimoga district of Karntaka.n Karnataka. It is lying in the Thirthahalli taluk and the Malnad region and surrounded by dense lush green forests, small streams and ghats. Agumbe is called the Cherapunji of South India. Major attractions in this area are Waterfalls, hill stations and sunset view point. Agumbe is well known as Cherapunji of South India & receives nearly 7,800 mm of rainfall in a year.

Agumbe is part of the Bio-diversity hot-spot of the Western Ghats and boasts of a large number of endemic flora and fauna. Agumbe also served the screening of most of the episodes of one of the most popular television serial Malgudi Days based on R.K Narayan's novel. Major attractions in Agumbe are Barkana Falls, Onake Abbi Falls, Jogigundi Falls, Koodlu Theertha Falls and Sunset Point.
