Jerusalem the capital of Israel where you can see a combination of ancient as well as modern culture and it is usually referred to as the holy city for three different religions - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The city has been destroyed twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times, and captured and recaptured 44 times. In the year 1981, the place became a world heritage site and is on the 'List of World Heritage in Danger'.

1: Title is certainly wrong. It is true that Jeruslem is one of the oldest cities apart from Rome.
Even one city from China is there. What about cities from Grece? Athens? Consider the times of Alexander and Asoka. Why not Patna, capital of Asoka? What happened to Hastinaput (Delhi)
