India's Top 7 High Mountain Passes

Out of them, the Indian mountain ranges offer some of the most beautiful sceneries, with adventurous drives through the high altitude passes or Ghats. The dizzying altitudes, rarefied air and the brutally cold temperatures can be best described as Himalayas, the home to the highest peaks on earth.

#1 Dungri La Pass
Dungri La Pass, otherwise known as, Mana Pass; connects India and Tibet. It is located in the Nanda Devi biosphere Reserve of the Zanskar mountain range in Uttarkhand. It has an elevation of 5,608 m (18,399 ft). The pass includes the Deotal Lake, from which river Saraswati originates and it is claimed to be the world's highest motor-able road constructed by Border Roads Organization. The pass is reached from south by NH58 that connects Delhi with Badrinath and Mana.
