Jama Masjid, located in Old Delhi is the principal mosque of India, which also happens to be the largest and best known mosque in the country. More than thousands of Muslims offer their prayers here and its courtyard can hold up to twenty-five thousand worshippers. The structure was built by Shah Jahan, the construction of which was completed in 1656.
