Rail Journeys in India with Outstanding Panoramic Views

Konkan Railway

The Konkan Railway, which runs along the Konkan coast of India commences from Mumbai, passes through Goa and finally reaches Roha railway station in Maharashtra. The trip is undoubtedly a visual treat with amazing view of lush greeneries, water bodies and dazzling curves. The railway passes through 2,000 bridges and 91 tunnels along mountainous terrain which contains many rivers and the project was one of the biggest and perhaps most difficult railway undertaking in the country.
Hats off to the engineers behind this fabulous creation, who had to face many challenges such as Flash floods, landslides and tunnel collapses during its construction. Since the region was thickly forested, wild animals also created lot of problems; but the project continued and now we take pleasure in marvelous journeys across Konkan.
