Auli is the most popular skiing destination of Uttaranchal and the ropeway system from Joshimath to Auli Gorson is the highest in India. This ropeway which has two cable cars and 10 towers covers a distance of 4.15 Kms in just 22 minutes. Tourists can enjoy ride in the cable car known as Gondola and it also offers beautiful views of Himalayas.

1: GULMARG IS THE SCENIC ONE TOO. I TRAVELLED ON THIS IN A YEAR 1984-85 LATER IT MET WITH AN COLLAPSE AND SEVERAL DEAD. WE NEED MORE SUCH ROPEWAYS ALL ACROSS INDIA. BRING ONE SUCH ROPEWAY IN KARWAR OR HONNAVAR IN KARNATAKA.

3: I entirely agree with Abdul. Auli is perhaps an outdated installation as far as SKI ROPEWAYS ARE CONCERNED. The latest high tech addition is the SOLANG ropeway near Rotang pass.
The data really requires serious re-look and updating.

5: good collection but the author needs to get the data right...mallampuzha is not the only ropeway in south india ...there is also a ropeway at Srisailam in AP which is quite beautiful
