'Darjeeling ropeway', the oldest ropeway in India was built during the British era and served as the only means of transport between Darjeeling and Rangeet Valley, during that time. The ropeway ride which offers splendid sights of the tea gardens, splendid hills and waterfalls is one of the most exciting experiences. It is a joint venture of the West Bengal Forest Development Corporation Ltd and Conveyor and Ropeway Services Pvt Ltd.
1: GULMARG IS THE SCENIC ONE TOO. I TRAVELLED ON THIS IN A YEAR 1984-85 LATER IT MET WITH AN COLLAPSE AND SEVERAL DEAD. WE NEED MORE SUCH ROPEWAYS ALL ACROSS INDIA. BRING ONE SUCH ROPEWAY IN KARWAR OR HONNAVAR IN KARNATAKA.
3: I entirely agree with Abdul. Auli is perhaps an outdated installation as far as SKI ROPEWAYS ARE CONCERNED. The latest high tech addition is the SOLANG ropeway near Rotang pass.
The data really requires serious re-look and updating.
