Kedarnath



Kedarnath temple is dedicated to lord Shiva. The temple is considered to be more than 1000 years old. The Garbha Griha situated here is very famous for its colonial rock formation. The shrine of Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimages for the Hindus. The temple is built of heavy grey stone slabs. The conical rock formation inside the temple is worshiped as Lord Shiva in his Sadashiva form. The temple is open for devotees from 6 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm. Shingar Darshan is from 5 pm onwards and Aarti is performed at 6:45 pm. Every year the opening date will be decided based on Basant Panchami. From New Delhi it will take 8 hours by bus and 4-5 hours by train.
