Karnataka was formed on the 15th Aug 1947 and it Shares borders with Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra, Andhra Padesh and Tamil Nadu. The state is blessed with ageless monuments, world heritage sites, lush green forests, amazing wildlife, spectacular waterfalls and romantic hill stations.

Karnataka has been called the 'Craddle of stone Architecture'. The world heritage sites at Hampi and Pattadakal, the temples at Belur, Halebeedu, and Somanathpur. The cave temples at Badami and Aihole and the forts and domes revive the state's history and cultural heritage.

Srirangapatana is the fortress of legendary king Tippu Sulthan. Tippu's summer palace is situated here inside this fortress. Another major attraction is Bangalore palace, built like the Windsor Castle. Another important art work nestled in Mysore palace, built in Indo-Saracenic style with domes, turrets, arches, and colon. The Bellary Fort was built on top of the Ballari Gudda or Fort Hill, during Vijayanagar times by Hanumappa Nayaka. Hyder Ali took possession from the Nayaka's in 1769, got the fort renovated and modified with the help of a French engineer.

Keshava temple situated in Sonmnathapur is a perfect example for Hoysala architecture. Chitradurga is famous for its Kallinakotte fort. There are many temples inside the fort complex. Eknatha temple and Chandravalli caves are famous here. Rameshwara is also a very famous temple to visit.
