Lagoons of New Caledonia

The lagoons of New Caledonia is situated in France and comprises of six marine clusters. It is one of the three most expensive reef systems in the world. These lagoons have an exceptional diversity of coral and fish species, ranging from Plankton to larger fish and even sharks. The reef also serves as a nesting site for green Sea turtle. Some of the reefs have been damaged due to sedimentation from mining, agriculture and grazing.
