Let us have a look at some of the famous Indian temples which were hit by terrorist attacks-
Akshardam Temple
The temple of Akshardam in Gandhinagar of Gujarat was attacked by two heavily armed terrorists in the year 2002, which resulted in the death of 29 devotees and more than 80 devotees were injured. They entered the temple with hand grenades and started firing, killing a woman and a temple volunteer immediately. There were about 600 devotees in the temple during the time and the quick action of the temple authorities avoided any further attack. The security forces killed the two terrorists in an operation the same night. After 8 years of the incident David Headley, an associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba confessed to the National Investigation Academy that an LeT terrorist named Muzammil was behind the attack.
